Information
- All Games are 8 ends
- Games tied after 8 ends (or an extra end) shall play an full extra end to
break the tie
- Please play all extra ends and team shoot-outs towards the viewing area
- All games are to be played under current rules of the Canadian Curling Association
- Teams will be given practice time before certain draws, see Practice/Warmup Times below
Format:
- 9 Teams, Modified Round Robin Format (4 games each)
- Top 4 Teams after round robin play will qualify for the Championship Round
- Round Robin
- Last rock and rock colour at the start of the game will be determined by a standard coin flip
- The order of ranking (to determine qualifiers) for a round robin pool will be based on the win-loss record at the completion of the round robin
- If two or more teams are have the same win-loss record after the round robin, ties will be broken as stated in the tie-breaker rules supplement
- Tie-Breaker Games
- In all tie-breaker games, the team that won the round robin game between teams playing in the tie-breaker will be awarded to start the tie-breaker with last rock or choice of rocks, unless the two teams did not play each other in round robin, then it will be determined based on shoot-out ranking
- Championship Round
- During the championship round, last rock in the first end and rock colour will be determined by a coin flip
- Prize Money Payout:
- Champion: $1,200
- Runner-Up: $700
- Semi-Finalists (2): $400
Practice/Warmup Times:
- Teams will have the option of a 10-minute practice session before their game for the Wednesday 7pm and Friday 5pm draw
- For teams playing Wednesday at 7pm, first 10-minute practice will begin at approximately 6:30pm,
and the second 10-minute practice will start soon after the first practice
- For teams playing Friday at 5pm, the first 10-minute practice will begin at approximately 4:30pm
- Teams that do not use the practice session will NOT be penalized with loss of hammer or colour choice
- Before the practice session (Wednesday 6:30pm or Friday 4:30pm), one representative from each team shall participate in the coin flip to determine hammer and rock colour. The team that will start the game with the hammer will practice first
- If one team representative is not present before the start of the practice session, that team will forfeit their practice time, and the team present shall practice during the second practice session. The lone team present for the practice is permitted to practice with both rocks colours on the sheet. The coin flip to determine hammer and rock colour shall occur before the start of the game.
- If neither team has a representative present before the start of the practice session, neither team will be given a practice session, and the the coin flip will occur before the start of the game
Spare Usage Rules:
- Any player registered with a team in this event can NOT spare for any
other team
- Any
female not registered with a team for this event may:
- spare as many times as they wish for any number of teams during the round robin portion of the event
- spare ONLY for ONE team (as many times as they wish) during the tie-breaker and playoff portions
- A team must play with at least 2 players registered with the team at all times
Kitchen:
- The kitchen will be open Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 3pm
- Food will also be available at the bar during the event
