Format Information

Skins Format:

• The winner of each game is determined by the team winning the most skins money
• There is an amount of skins money allocated for each of the 8 ends of a game
• A team wins the end's skin by one of the following when the end has completed:
  - the team with the hammer in the end scores two or more points
  - the team without the hammer in the end scores one or more points
• If neither team wins the skin in the end...
  - the team with the hammer loses the hammer in the next end, and
  - the skin and it's money is carried over and added to the skin of the next end
• If a skin is not won in the 8th end, a shoot-out will occur to decide the skin (see Shoot-out Rules below)

Shoot-out Rules:

• the team that did not have the hammer in the 8th end, will have the choice of throwing the first or second rock in the shoot-out
• each team will designate one shooter to deliver one rock
• sweeping is ONLY allowed by the delivering team
• sweeping the opponent's rock in the shoot-out is NOT permitted
• each rock after coming to rest in the house will be measured and then removed
• the team with the closest measurement to the pin wins the shoot-out
• if both teams either cover the pin with their rock or both miss the house, it is declared a tie, and another shoot-out is to occur
• a rock will be considered to have "cover the pin" if the measuring device can not be fully placed in the pin with the rock in its current place of rest

Scoreboard Use:

In order to clearly identify skins carried over and won on the scoreboard, please use the following method of scoring in order to assist volunteers capturing linescores during the event.

Note: The numbers in the middle of scoreboard represent the end (not score) in this event

There will be skin format scoreboard numbers available, please use the back side of the normal numbers used for scoring, some will be blank, and some will be marked with an "X"

• Skin Carryover
  • Please hang a BLANK on the side of the team that had the hammer in the end
• Skin Won
  • Please hang an X on the side of the team that won the skin
  • Please DO NOT hang any Xs on any ends that were carried-over, please leave them hung as BLANKs

Please place the HAMMER scoreboard tag at the end of the scoreboard on the side of the team that started the game with the hammer.
